Overview
I have been translating all my life since I got a degree in translation, quite a few years ago. I love contemporary fiction and I spend most of my time (reading and) working on novels, but I have worked on non-fiction, too, and I have a lot of experience in the dubbing and subtitling industry.
Among my past and present clients are big Italian publishers like Frassinelli (Sperling & Kupfer), Feltrinelli, and Archinto. Some of the authors I have translated are Maya Angelou, Andrew O’Hagan, Richard Russo, Amanda Hodgkinson, Anthony Marra, David Bergen, Lauren Francis-Sharma. Non-fiction books I have worked on include essays by Nadine Gordimer and Toni Morrison.
I was a partner for ten years at a company specializing in translation for dubbing and subtitling of documentaries, films and TV series, and I keep devoting part of my time to audiovisual translation. I find this very enriching and exciting. Working on dialogues and on texts that will be read by a speaker helps improving my ability to listen to the written word. And I think that listening is a big part of my job: listening both to the original text, in order to get its rhythm and musicality as well as its meaning, and to my translation, so that it “sounds” right. Soon after graduating I started working as a freelancer for both puslishing houses and the audiovisual industry. I have been translating novels and essays and providing Italian subtitles for films and TV series and Italian scripts for documentaries since then.

Text Traduttori was a company specializing in the translation for dubbing and subtitling of documentaries, films, TV series and cartoons for the main Italian television networks, dubbing companies and subtitling companies. In addition to handling a vast network of translators, I translated and proofread many different kinds of documentaries, cartoons, interviews as well as subtitles for TV series and films.
