Overview
I am a writer and editor, with over twenty years of experience in helping others write powerful and convincing texts. I am fluent in both English and Spanish (professionally educated in both), and I am available to help with all aspects of writing and editing in both languages. I have experience in fiction, memoirs, education, academic publishing, nonfiction, self help, and journalism. I'm interested in Latinx and bilingual writing.
I can provide an editorial assessment of your manuscript and help you with the developmental editing process. I can also coach you through the writing process, and help you get your ideas on paper.
As someone who has been teaching writing at the college level for twenty-two years, and who is also a published creative and academic writer, I know how to make a text more impactful, persuasive, coherent, and precise. I can tailor your text to a specific audience and can help you get a message across in the most effective way.

I have also published and edited my own academic and creative work, with major academic presses and independent literary publishers. I have served as editor of the journal Revista de Estudios Colombianos and Perífrasis; I have been a reviewer for many journals and publishing houses, and I am a member of the board of international journals.
City University of New York, Baruch College
I was a professor of Comparative Literature and Latinx Studies. I guided students' writing projects, and helped them revise. I also published and edited my own work.
Self-employed
I participated in all aspects of the editorial process of the academic journal Latin American Essays, including: preselecting articles for review; overseeing desk rejections; selecting reviewers; bilingual proofreading and editing.
I held this role for numbers 16-25 of the journal, which is available at the MACLAS web page.
