Robert Twigger

Robert Twigger – Editor

I've helped people write bestsellers. And I've written 15 books translated into 16 languages: Penguin, Harper Collins. I can help you.

Overview

I am a writing coach as much as I am an editor and ghostwriter- and all stem from being a published writer first. I can see the book from both writing and editorial perspectives and that gives me an edge in helping people find their own voice and their own way of telling their story.

What do I do? I listen- I listen to what you want to do and help you try and achieve it. The answer is already there- it just needs a good sounding board to help bring it out.

I love books that want to help people or say something about life- memoirs are an especial interest.

I read, coached and structurally edited the first draft of Shaun Bythell's Sunday Times bestselling memoir Diary of a Bookseller- which has been translated into 37 languages worldwide.

I have ghostwritten memoirs, fiction and self-help books.

I have written and edited full length books of memoir, fiction, history, self-help and travel. I have won the Somerset Maugham award and the William Hill Sportsbook of the Year award as well as the Newdigate prize for poetry. I have edited my own books alongside top editors from Penguin, Orion and Picador books. I have worked with several literary agents both in the UK and USA and I have taught creative writing at Moniack Mhor in Scotand.

He is very knowledgeable and cooperative and precise in his job. He has done extensive study on my work. Being an author himself, it was very easy to communicate with him and he could understand my standing much realistically. All together - he is a great personality and professional

Robert did exactly what I was hoping for. He reviewed my memoir draft, identity areas that could benefit from improvement, and assessed the improvements I made.

Thank you Lauren. Book coaching and developmental editing is about building the confidence of the writer in their own decisions- to do that you have to listen and encourage.
