Overview
Words have always been my way of making sense of the world—and of sharing it across languages. I am an English–Spanish literary translator with a degree in Literature and a Master’s in Editorial Translation, specializing in book translation for authors and publishers.
I work on literary fiction, YA, essays, romance, and children’s books, translating full-length manuscripts as well as short-form and illustrated works. My experience includes collaborations with publishers such as Penguin Random House Miami and independent authors, bringing stories from English into natural, reader-focused Spanish for broad Spanish-speaking audiences.
My approach to literary translation goes beyond word-for-word accuracy. I focus on voice, rhythm, tone, and emotional resonance so that each text feels as if it were originally written in Spanish, not translated into it.
In addition to literary work, I have a background in educational publishing in the U.S. (K–12), translating language arts and mathematics curricula. This strengthened my editorial precision, consistency, and attention to detail across long-form projects.
I adapt translations for international Spanish-speaking markets, carefully shaping cadence, punctuation, and vocabulary depending on the text’s intent—whether lyrical and expansive or precise and minimal.
I value collaboration, clear communication, and thoughtful feedback. My process is detail-oriented and respectful of the author’s voice, with a steady balance of care, clarity, and creative sensitivity.
