Overview

My career has spanned across non-fiction publishing and academic publishing. Most recently, I am a commissioning editor for Bloomsbury Publishing working on a range of books, including complex illustrated projects, as well as those with a non-fiction trade appeal for a wider audience. To date, I have worked on books from the following disciplines: classical studies, archaeology, Egyptology, anthropology, food studies and ancient history.

I enjoy editorial work and have a wealth of experience in assessing proposals and manuscripts for content, structure and clarity. Particularly, I am able to advise on writing style and provide editorial assessment and manuscript development with regard to adapting specialist text to suit a more general readership. I can also help with promotional text such as blurbs and marketing copy, as well as copyediting and proofreading.

My specialist background in the history of art makes me an ideal editor for books about art, architecture and history, though I enjoy working on many subjects. I am an enthusiastic and creative editor, with a particular passion for making books accessible to as wide an audience as possible.

I look forward to working with you!
