A good editor provides a service that is so much more than simply pointing out typos or grammatical errors. I want to help you take your writing to the next level, to assist you in crafting professional, well-written content; strong, mindful narratives; and to make you sound like the best possible version of you!
In the years I've spent working with words, I've been fortunate enough to work on a wide variety of projects. In the realm of books, I've worked on many fiction titles, including romance (including through my work as a proofreader for Harlequin) and YA genres, and I've worked on a variety of nonfiction titles as well, in the genres of memoir, motivational & self-help, and sports history.
Editing is a collaborative process, and it's very important to me to develop a trusting and supportive author-editor relationship with the authors I work with. So, no matter the project, I'm happy to help you, and will give your writing my full attention. I work with authors to complete multiple levels of editing (developmental, copyediting, proofreading) and I specialize in the genres of romance and self-help/motivational! I also take on non-fiction and academic projects to provide copyediting, formatting, and proofreading services for reports, theses/dissertation, papers, and articles.
Many of my authors are new to the publishing sphere and are publishing their first book, so a big part of my role is also coaching and acting as a resource for authors -- I provide feedback and advice, along with walking them through the editing process and answering any questions they may have.

My editorial duties included proofreading and copyediting a variety of non-fiction projects, from memoirs and self-help books to journal articles. I was also responsible for the editing, layout, and design of 2 academic journals in the field of higher education, which I completed using Adobe InDesign. I formatted and laid out other documents, such as reports, dissertations/theses, and papers, and also worked with authors in providing developmental editing services for their book projects as well, developing and shaping their work so it becomes the best it can be.

My responsibilities included proofreading and copyediting content such as manuscripts and promotional materials, preparing reading reports of submitted manuscripts and doing final flip-throughs of printer proofs to ensure quality content. I also prepared market research, created and sent out pitch letters to promote authors and their books, and worked on social media aspects of marketing as well, including managing the ECW blog and interacting with followers via Twitter and Facebook.
