Overview
A good editor provides a service that is so much more than simply pointing out typos or grammatical errors. I want to help you take your writing to the next level, to assist you in crafting professional, well-written content, and to make you sound like the best possible version of you!
No matter the project, I'm happy to help you, and will give your writing my full attention. I can polish and refine your writing to give it that extra edge, whether for the workplace, classroom, or publishing industry. Let me help you put your best foot forward.
In the years I've spent working with words, I've been fortunate enough to work on a wide variety of projects. In the realm of books, I've worked on many fiction titles, including romance (through my work as a proofreader for Harlequin) and YA genres, and I've worked on a variety of nonfiction titles as well, in the genres of memoir, motivational & self-help, and sports history. I have over four years' experience working with academic texts, from academic journal articles to essays, dissertations, and papers. I also have experience working with business documents, including handbooks, training modules & manuals, resource guides, & annual reports.

My editorial duties include proofreading and copy editing a variety of non-fiction projects, from memoirs and self-help books to journal articles. I am also responsible for the complete layout and design of an online journal project, which I complete using Adobe InDesign. I work with formatting and laying out documents, and work with authors to substantively edit their projects as well, developing and shaping their work so it becomes the best it can be.

There are many points that I like about my experience working with Lesley, but above all, I like how she took my work very seriously and never made me feel incompetent.

Leslie- Anne made helpful suggestions as to how to add depth to my manuscript. She was responsive to my questions and included an afterthought that is helpful for me to see the initial big picture I've left readers with.
