Overview
FREELANCE TRANSLATOR FROM ENGLISH TO ITALIAN
Let’s begin from the beginning: “Translation is the real way to read” wrote Italo Calvino, and I completely agree with him. I think it is even more than that. When you are translating you do not simply read a text, you embody it and give it a new life drawing the words from the well of silence that inhabits us all. That’s the way I like to work on books.
Here are a few things that might help you to know me a bit better.
After studying English and Spanish Literature at the University in Florence and after teaching Italian at the Ripon College of Education for a semester, in 2000 I attended a numerus clausus Course in Literary Translation organized by SETL (European School of Literary Translation) and founded a company with my colleagues that it is still operating in Italy.
Since then I have been working as a translator from English to Italian for many Italian publishing houses such as Mondadori Ragazzi, Giunti, Il pensiero Scientifico Editore, Salani, LEF, Meridiano Zero, EL with whom I published nearly fifty books so far (see part of the titles in my portfolio below).
Together with Loredana Baldinucci, a great friend and translator, I am one of the Italian translator of Rick Riordan (The Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, The Trials of Apollo).
I am curious, eclectic and quite organized by nature. I enjoy taking up new challenges and launching myself into uncharted territory that might reveal its hidden treasures.
And so here I am, ready to be your voice into the Italian world of culture. Just convince me your book is going to make the difference and contribute to the common good.Services
