Overview
As a longtime publishing industry professional, I have helped dozens of authors perfect their manuscripts and present the most polished and compelling versions of their work to the world. While I typically follow the Chicago Manual of Style, I am also fluent in AP and APA styles, and proficient in AMA. I graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in English and hold an editing certification from the University of Chicago Graham School. I'm most proud of my work on David Goggins's best-selling memoir, Can't Hurt Me (Spanish version). Though I'm not a native Spanish speaker, I flexed my proofreading muscles in a cold read to eliminate all errors from the final copy and photo captions. I know the profound effort and care it takes for authors to bring their stories to life; I invest the same level of care to ensure that no errors will distract from the impact of those stories.
I'm an aggressive grammarian but a gentle handler; I'll earn your trust through consistent excellence, kindness, and whatever level of explanation you desire. My process and rates include two full passes through your manuscript and citations; I'll send the tracked changes back to you after my first pass, allow you to accept or reject my corrections, and have a final pass-through to ensure no new errors have been introduced. My style will be best suited to proof your memoirs, nonfiction business, self-help, and wellness books, but I am always eager to expand my expertise and experience. Please note that I am a fierce ally to underrepresented writers; your content is welcome, sacred, and safe with me.
