Overview
I'm a freelancing translator (German-English) specialising in romance novels since 2015. Up to date I've translated more than 50 novels, novellas and short stories. My main preference - both as translator and reader - is science fiction, (urban) fantasy and romance. Erotic content is no problem for me, but I'm not qualified to translate young adult or dark romance.
In 2017 I started translating as a regular freelancer for National Geographic online, which includes articles and foto galeries on various topics like nature, physics, general science and history. I've also worked on big online campains (e.g. Nespresso, Bayer) and a lot of travel campains (e.g. New Zealand, Slowenia, Scotland).
Respect for the author's work, story and style of writing is the most important ingredient for the best translation possible, My goal as a translator is to give your book and its characters their very own German voice, to get the essence of romance straight to the reader: emotions.
I offer fully edited translations as well as working with your prefered German editors and/or proofreaders. Tight time frames are no problem, even 6-8 weeks per novel is possible (depending on the length and challenge it provides).
I always take my time for an extended briefing on my client's wishes and their preferences regarding voices and overall tenor of the story.
Let's get started on your book that will conquer the German market next!
