Julia Sanz

Julia Sanz – Designer

Versatile illustrator. I love children's illustration projects. My speciality is hitting the nail on the head with what you are looking for.

Overview

I began studying Biology at the University of Seville until one day I heard the "click" and decided to go to Madrid to study drawing. When I finished, I had the opportunity to work in creative studios in Bilbao and Seville. I'm currently working as a feelance illustrator, devoting my time and creativity to giving life to various projects in the publishing world, as well as in advertising, animation and design.

My style of illustration is highly versatile and very broad. I'm very good at adapting my style of illustration to the needs of each project.

Regarding my way of working, I like to always be very clear and orderly. Normally I need some illustration style references (they can be from my own website or taken from Internet). I also need the text and know approximately the number of pages/illustrations the project will have. A briefing about the characters and backgrounds will always be welcome! The more information I have, the easier it'll be for me to get what you're looking for :)

From there I make a test of illustration style and very simple sketches of each illustration. To see the composition and content of each illustration. Adjustments and changes should always be made in this phase of sketches (change of composition of the illustration, color palette, character design, ...).

Once the style of illustration and sketches have been approved, I will be able to continue making the final illustrations. During this process I'll be able to show the process and get freedback from the client to make sure everything is going well. When all the illustrations are done I can make small adjustments, but not redo illustrations. If you need extra illustrations or redo any drawing, it will be budgeted separately.

Following these steps and working with enthusiasm I'm sure that you would very happy with the result (and it will not be necessary to repeat the work!).

Julia created some great illustrations for my humor book project, which really captured and rendered the spirit of each story in a spot on way. I hope to work with her again in the future on other projects!
