John Blase

John Blase – Editor

While I live out West, I will always be from the South. I'm a husband of one, father of three, and friend to a fair number of patient folks.

Overview

I'm a writer, a poet, and an editor. I worked in the publishing industry for over a decade, and prior to that I was a minister (not a very good one, but I tried). Whether its prose or poetry, I write for the sheer thrill of it, by which I mean the absolute rush that comes from stringing words and phrases and sentences and thoughts and hunches and ideas together with the result being that the rest of the world has the chance, should they choose, to see things through my eyes. In my editing and coaching work, I strive to help writers and authors find and chase that same thrill.

John D. Blase

In plain-speak reminiscent of William Stafford or Jim Harrison, John Blase traverses a landscape both strangely familiar and yet utterly new: the “simple meadow of the heart.” In The Jubilee, the poet’s vision is rooted firmly in ordinary life: cashmere and cl... read more
