Jo Ann Liguori

Jo Ann Liguori – Editor

Copy editor, proofreader, recipe editor, and managing editor with more than 30 years of experience in magazines, books, and digital content.

Overview

I am a detail-oriented, efficient, pragmatic copy editor and proofreader and an effective, dynamic managing editor who has more than 25 years of experience in magazines, books, and digital content.

I'm known for my ability to juggle multiple projects and quickly adapt to a project's tone, voice, and style.

Projects have included Chicken A-to-Z (more than 1,000 recipes along with anecdotes, stories, and trivia from every continent); a number of commemorative special issues (the 30th anniversary of Seinfeld, the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday); several cooking bookazines (Keto Over 50, Simple Vegan Recipes, Best Plant-Based Meals); Luxury: A History; and daily content for a financial-wellness website.

Though I'm open to working on entertainment, pop-culture, and lifestyle projects, I’m most interested in working on cookbooks, as much of my experience has been in food-related content (as the Managing Editor of Modern Farmer), two years as the Managing Editor/De Facto Copy Chief at Hearst Specials, four years as the Copy Chief of Good Housekeeping, and quite a bit of freelance work.
