My career as a freelance food writer and trained chef combines two passions I've nurtured my entire life, writing and cooking. I work tirelessly with clients to create inspired recipes and written content that is both engaging and informative.
I specialize in content and recipes related to the Paleo lifestyle. I've developed and co-authored three cookbooks with health and fitness expert Mark Sisson, a leading voice in the Paleo/Primal movement. For seven years I have developed recipes and written content for one of the leading websites dedicated to the Paleo/Primal movement. I have also contributed to healthy-eating websites such as Paleo Magazine and Organic Authority.
As a culinary school graduate with years of experience in restaurants, speciality food shops and wine stores, I'm also well-versed on a wide variety of other culinary topics. I've ghostwritten a book about French cheese, and wrote extensively about cheese as the Cheese Expert for The Spruce (formerly About. com) from 2007 to 2016.
In addition to working on long form book projects, I also write shorter pieces like blog posts, website content, and newsletters.
A personal project I recently completed was documenting my grandmother's life history through her recipes, her memories of life on the North Dakota prairie, and memories from her children. I enjoy using recipes and the template of a cookbook to craft memoirs and record family history.
As a mother of two young girls, I'm also passionate about home cooking, cooking for kids, and solving the never-ending dilemma of what's for dinner.
