Hello! I have worked for 25 years in the publishing world, most of them at Clarion Books (formerly an imprint at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers, now part of HarperCollins) on all kinds of books for kids and teens. I am excited for the chance help your manuscript to shine, so that it gets to where you want it to be—in the hands of readers!

I have edited both fiction and nonfiction for all ages, from board book and picture book to middle grade and YA. I have worked on hundreds of books for the youngest readers, and I am happy to help you shape your picture book manuscript or, if you are an illustrator, your dummy! While my speciality is picture books, I have extensive experience in fiction as well and I love middle grade and YA , especially realistic fiction, which is what nourished me as a young reader myself. I also have lots and lots of nonfiction passion and experience! Whether you are looking for developmental editing, a thoughtful line edit, or a combination of the two, I can help.

I am also happy to edit queries, proposals and sample chapters. Over the course of my career, I have read thousands of queries and submissions, and I know what catches an agent's eye. And I have extensive copyediting and proofreading experience if you just want to clean up your manuscript before sending it out.

I know that your writing is a deeply rooted part of you and sharing it with an outside reader can be raw and scary. Please know I will work to help you hone your vision and voice with respect as well as honesty.
