Bryony Davies

Bryony Davies – Editor

I'm an editor, proofreader and writer with over 16 years’ experience, specialising in non-fiction and fiction children’s books.

Overview

I’ve written and edited books on a wide range of subjects from technology to trees, Disney to Roald Dahl - some of them award-winning! Do get in touch if I can help you. I am happy to proofread, project manage, copy edit, provide structural edits, fact check or just give my professional opinion.

I've worked at publishers such as Welbeck Children's, Carlton Kids and Buster Books, where I've put together fun, engaging and eye-catching books. I've created illustrated non-fiction, puzzle books, activity and sticker books, gaming, novelty and fiction. You name it, I've worked on it! I've also worked with big name licensors such as Disney, Universal and The Roald Dahl Story Company. Looking through Roald Dahl's handwritten manuscripts was a personal career highlight.

I project managed, commissioned and wrote a wide range of children's titles. I wrote a series of preschool books about vehicles ('Trucks! (and other things with wheels)') and worked on beautiful illustrated picture books such as 'What the Macaw Saw' and 'An Invitation to the Ballet Theatre'. Together with the Science Museum I created 'The Book of Inventions' and 'The Book of Discoveries', and I put together books about underwater submarine adventures, festivals around the world, escape room-themed puzzle books and important young-adult non-fiction titles about the LGBTQ+ movement and about how to celebrate difference and feel beautiful ('BeYOUtiful'). That's just to mention a few!

The best complement I can give Bryony is that we have hired her immediately for two more books. He ability to find the edits in copy and art that no one else can see is outstanding. And having an answer and the ability to fix said problem. She is an ace. Billy
