Hi! I'm an editor and author with 13 years of publishing industry experience. I specialize in MG, YA, and picture books.
I love helping other authors bring out the best in their work. I have worked with Scholastic, Harlequin Teen, The Rights Factory Literary Agency, and many freelance clients.
I have a Professional Development Award in Children's Publishing. I have also taught dozens of panels and workshops over the years on writing, querying, and the publishing process. I love both the big-picture conversations about books and finding those last little typos that come between your reader and a flawless reading experience.
My own books have been published in over five languages and nine countries. My YA Fantasy books INK, RAIN, and HEIR TO THE SKY were nominated for Best YA Novel in the SF/F Aurora Awards, and my short fiction has been long-listed for the Sunburst Award and included in award-winning anthologies. I'm excited to bring out the potential in your manuscript!

Work experience
Scholastic Canada
Contract position at Scholastic Canada. Worked on picture books, middle grade, and young adult at every level of the publishing process (developmental edits, line edits, copy edits, and proofreading).
Harlequin
Copy edited Harlequin titles in a variety of lines to a variety of house style requirements. Quick turnaround and great attention to detail on each project.
The Rights Factory Literary Agency
Worked at the agency on developmental edits and manuscript evaluation, specializing in children's projects (middle grade and young adult). Prepared and revised manuscripts for both agented authors ready to query publishing houses and unagented authors looking for representation. I prepared edit letters and helped revise through several drafts until works were ready for submission.
Self-employed
I specialize in MG/YA Fantasy and contemporary, as well as picture books. I offer developmental edits for big-picture discussions of plot and character, and also proofreading for making sure the text is clean and consistent for a flawless reading experience.
