Brian Hurley

Brian Hurley – Editor

I'm an editor who loves a good challenge, especially in Business and Self Help.

Overview

I started my career at Oxford University Press, where I edited books on Linguistics, Philosophy, and Classics by some of the best scholars in the world. Then I launched a startup and edited dozens of #1 Amazon bestsellers in Business, Self Help, and Psychology; that company was acquired Penguin Random House. I also have a Master's degree in Publishing & Writing from Emerson College.

For me, editing is all about listening. I listen closely to what you've written so I can help you amplify your voice. Whatever you want to say, together we can make it clearer, stronger, more impactful. I'm especially good with academic research, sensitive subjects, and complex arguments. And I'm constantly focused on giving your readers a great experience as they dive into your book.

When you work with me, you can expect a lot of questions up front about what you're hoping to accomplish with your book. I like to understand exactly what your goals are. And then I handle the rest. I'm prompt, decisive, and committing to making all of my authors successful.

His enthusiasm, support and editing skills kept me motivated and energized and helped me create a much better, focused and organized book. His extensive knowledge of the self-help genre combined with an understanding of what readers want and will buy makes him an invaluable...
