Leticia Gomez

Leticia Gomez – Editor

I am an Editor-at-Large for Kensington Publishing Corp. and founder of a literary agency that champions culturally diverse voices.

Overview

Please allow me to introduce myself.

I am a passionate, knowledgeable and market-aware bilingual publishing professional with eighteen years of experience in the traditional book publishing industry who specializes in championing and publishing culturally diverse and marginalized voices as well as mainstream authors

Over the years I've been working in publishing, I've been able to build a strong and extensive portfolio of acquisition, edited and placement titles. I also have nearly two decades of effective publishing project management experience. I bring a sunny disposition, great sense of humor and a unique perspective to everything I do.

I am very approachable. You never need to hire a private detective to find me. I take great pride in being an Equal Opportunity publishing professional, meaning that I do my best to treat clients as if they are one of my own children. I have a strong and honest work ethic and define a “client from hell” as being an aspiring or already published author who does not have a sense of humor. The book publishing industry is a highly subjective and brutal business and trust me there will always be a need for comic relief.

Finally, I do not measure my success by the number of books I’ve helped place with traditional publishers or how much money I make. My "true" success and sense of accomplishment comes from knowing I've helped make someone's dream of being published come true. I try to remind myself every day that I work in publishing because it is my true calling in life and I believe in the power of the written word.
