Gene Shannon

Gene Shannon – Editor

Non-fiction editor driven by passion and curiosity. Focused on clarity and audience needs. Let's make something great.

Overview

My mission these days is to help people create exceptional books. Making it easier for you to tell your story is deeply fulfilling for me. If we work together, I want you to come away with a book that you’re proud of.

I believe a great non-fiction book happens when your unique ideas and insights are matched with what your audience wants to know. It’s very easy to get locked into your own point of view–my job as an editor is to help you see your subject through the eyes of your readers. Working together starts with understanding the big picture of what you want your book to accomplish and then breaking down the steps to make it happen.

Finally, I believe our collaboration should be fun! Writing should feel like a big adventure, overcoming obstacles one-by-one until you have a great book to share with the world.
