James Gallagher – Editor

I work on a variety of genres, but I particularly enjoy horror and romance, and I have a never-ending enthusiasm for helping authors.

When you select an editor, you expect that your work will be done well, in accordance with industry standards, and that it will be done on time. I take pride in fulfilling both expectations.

With me, your manuscript benefits from my knowledge of editing trends, my facility with editing tools, and my experience working on more than four hundred books.

As a copy editor, I address spelling, grammar, punctuation, style, and consistency, all with the goal of nudging your work toward its ideal form while retaining your voice. I also flag such matters as echoes and continuity miscues, and I create a detailed style sheet that is extremely helpful as you review your edits.

I'm a member of both the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES: The Society for Editing. I'm an active member of the editing community, having delivered presentations at national conferences, and I'm never happier than when working on a manuscript.
