My name is Félix Díaz de Escauriaza, I am a freelance artist based in Madrid (Spain), where I've been working as a freelance illustrator for more than 10 years. I've worked for international clients such as L'Oréal, Unicef, Penguin Random House and Nike, and have been published in magazines like Marie Claire, Vogue and Condé Nast Traveler, where I'm a regular contributor.
I also majored in journalism, and worked in communication and PR for several years before establishing myself as an illustrator. I find this background really useful, as it helps me understand the client's briefing and adapt my work to correctly communicate their stories and ideas.
My style benefits greatly from using digital software, such as Procreate or Adobe Photoshop, as it lets me combine, create and adapt artistic brushes and textures to the story to create beautiful effects. When choosing a project I appreciate not only the story, but also the creative aesthetic of the author about the style and design of the project.
In book design and illustration, I admire the work of authors such as Roald Dahl & Quentin Blake, Jean-Jacques Sempé or Daniel Handler (as Lemony Snicket); and publishing houses like Phaidon, Penguin or Taschen.
When working with clients I require professionalism and a regular line of communication on Reedsy once we've started the collaboration, as it is key to bring each project to success. Feel free to contact me and tell me all about your idea and how we can make it real together!
