Ebruba Abel-Unokan

Ebruba Abel-Unokan – Editor

I edit bestselling and award-winning literary fiction, contemporary fiction, and SFF at a Big 5 publisher. I'm also a writer myself!

Overview

I’ve worked in publishing for over five years as an editor at the literary imprint of a Big Five publisher. I specialise in editing and publishing literary fiction, and I also edit speculative fiction and SFF too. Whether crafting your sprawling multigenerational family epic or putting the finishing touches on your Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic wasteland, I’ll elevate your manuscript with thoughtful and incisive editorial guidance.

I offer developmental, structural and line editing services, having worked with a wide range of writers, from novelists and poets preparing to publish in magazines for the first time through to bestselling authors. If you want to self-publish your novel or short story, I can help refine your unique authorial voice through detailed and thoughtful editing. I want to help you discover what it is you have to say that no one else can, and to equip you with confidence, skills and insights you can take into future projects. If you’d like to pursue a traditional publishing route, I can also help with your book proposal and query letter. I have extensive knowledge of the acquisition process for fiction and non-fiction, which has given me a clear sense of what publishers are looking for and how to pitch to them. Above all, I’m passionate about developing a close editorial relationship with writers at all stages of their careers.
