Overview
I'm a longtime editor of poetry and can provide extensive feedback (both broadly/developmentally as well as at the level of the line or syllable) on book manuscripts and other portfolios of creative work: I was a senior editor in poetry at THE ADROIT JOURNAL for nearly ten years and currently serve as the assistant poetry editor for THE YALE REVIEW.
I'm a PhD student in English literature at Yale with two starred first-class degrees in English from the University of Cambridge (BA & MPhil) and an MFA in creative writing/poetry from the Helen Zell Writers' Program at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where I won a Hopwood. My own poetry has appeared in POETRY MAGAZINE, NARRATIVE MAGAZINE, BEST NEW POETS, COPPER NICKEL, THE IOWA REVIEW, THE KENYON REVIEW, THE ADROIT JOURNAL, PASSAGES NORTH, PLEIADES, THE RUMPUS, COPPER NICKEL, TRIQUARTERLY, WEST BRANCH, MIZNA, THE DRIFT, THE GEORGIA REVIEW, THE MISSOURI REVIEW, POETRY DAILY, VERSE DAILY, OXFORD POETRY, AGNI, and elsewhere. Recently, I’ve been a finalist for CUTBANK's Patricia Goedicke Prize in Poetry, THE ADROIT JOURNAL's Gregory Djanikian Scholars Program, THE GEORGIA REVIEW’s Loraine Williams Poetry Prize, THE MISSOURI REVIEW’s Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize in poetry, THE IOWA REVIEW Award in poetry, the OXFORD POETRY Prize, and been nominated for a Pushcart. My work has been supported by e.g. the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference.
