I'm the founder and editor at Penmanship Editing, a business whose main goal is to help writers of all abilities edit, shine, and polish their manuscript ready for publication and/or submission. I've worked with both traditional and self-publishing authors, but I work primarily with the latter. I take a positive and constructive approach to developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting to help every author feel as though they have someone to help them through the process, someone to talk to when they're frustrated and concerned, and someone to share their journey with. Being an editor is about more than just grammar, it's about developing a positive relationship that helps your manuscript glow.
My specialist genres include fantasy, science-fiction, romance, and poetry; though I do enjoy taking on mysteries, memoirs, and women's fiction, too. I offer developmental editing services to a select few manuscripts each year and focus the majority of my attention on copyediting and line editing--a service I tailor to the author's individual needs. I also offer proofreading services to any author who has not used my copyediting services.

I have seven years editing and critiquing experience within online and in-person writing groups. I have dealt with full novels, chapter-by-chapter editing, poetry, short stories, novellas, and novelettes. I take a kind and encouraging approach to editing while remain critical and honest, and find the best results come from the author and editor working in tandem towards the same goal, which works best when the editor is both positive and critical. That careful balance between the two is something I have strived for in my career, and work endlessly to maintain.
Development editing, line editing, and copyediting are my specialties, but I also offer proofreading, blurb development, manuscript mentoring and evaluation services.
