Dina Rubin

Dina Rubin – Editor

Copy editor/proofreader expert at polishing manuscripts and pages for submission and publication. My clients include Scholastic and Penguin.

Overview

I'm a copy editor/proofreader/Americanizer with 30+ years of experience in publishing as a project editor and managing editor, working with publishers, packagers, and independent authors across multiple disciplines with emphasis on adult fiction and nonfiction, children's classroom and library materials, cookbooks, and all manner of personal development topics.

I can be that go-to person you rely on to ensure that your manuscript and pages are free of typos, grammatical errors, inconsistencies, and problems with continuity. I am responsive, patient, and flexible.

When I am not working, creativity relaxes and reenergizes me. In my free time I enjoy gardening, drawing and painting, knitting and crocheting, and playing the ukulele.

"If you've ever met someone who says what they will do, when they will do it, and does it to perfection, Dina Rubin is that person. She made me more confident about my own work because I felt she honored the task set forth for her. She is keenly intelligent, discerning, thorough, kind, and funny. She delivers a highly skilled performance, and who wouldn't want that?"

—Julie Gilbert, author of Ferber: Edna Ferber and Her Circle (Applause) and Opposite Attraction: The Lives of Erich Maria Remarque and Paulette Goddard (Pantheon)

"I have worked with Dina Rubin for more than 20 years, collaborating on thousands of projects for numerous leading U.S. publishers. When she became a freelance editorial provider, I was eager to immediately benefit from her proofreading and copyediting talents.

As a former managing editor at an international education publisher, Dina is completely aware of deadlines and meets them without compromising quality or attention to the smallest detail. As the lead of my freelance proofreaders and copy editors, she brings to her work an understanding of the need for teamwork and a positive, can-do attitude.

I thoroughly enjoy working with Dina and it is my supreme hope that we'll continue to team up for years to come."
