David Wilson

David Wilson – Ghostwriter

I'm a USA Today bestselling, award-winning author & publisher. Horror, mystery, thrillers, dark fantasy, biographies, and Science Fiction.

Overview

I've been writing for for over thirty years. I've written standalone novels, over 200 published short stories, and ghost-written ten novels for others. I can work quickly from an outline, and can bring a story to life.

I am easy-going and a good communicator with a lot of varied experience behind me in the US Military, electronics, IT and security, which helps inform my characters. I give full attention and dedication to every story.

I've won awards for short fiction and poetry, and written for several tie-in markets, including Star Trek, Stargate Atlantis, and the White Wolf World of Darkness.

I work on genre fiction projects, and biographies. I have twenty plus years in IT and Cyber Security that can inform my work, as well, and am open to technical books in those areas. I have a perfect record of satisfied clients.

* The biography of a Survivor of two death camps, who made his way to Israel after WWII, served in the army that freed Israel, then married an American woman and moved to NYC where he went into construction and built a large portion of Brooklyn. I spent hours in phone interviews capturing the voice and have visited this client in NYC.

* A sports thriller conceived by a medical doctor who is also a skiier. This book has done well, and I mentored the author through his second novel, which he also had published.

*The biography of a young medical student who grew up in poor, gang-related circumstances and crossed the border into Mexico to complete his schooling. Due to privacy I have no idea if this was published, but he was very pleased.

*The biography of a man who was involved in the Porn and gambling industries, knew many famous people, and was under investigation for all of it.

* A children's Christmas story about a group of parents who serve as a backup emergency squad for Santa Claus.

*A fantasy series for a man who wanted to write a story that mirrored the messages of Christianity through a different story. This is another case where I ghost-wrote the first two in the series, and mentored the author through the sequels.

*A series thriller where the author's name is a pseudonym and many authors write the books. I was contracted to write one book in the series on a very short timeline.

*A Science fiction novel where it is discovered that Neanderthals survived in an underground civilization near the Russian border. This is another that Do not know the details of after delivering the final manuscript, but the client was pleased.

* One quarter of a fantasy novel where the contracted author was unable to complete a project. Myself, and two others wrote parts of the novel but it was published under the name of the original contracted author.

Work experience

Crossroad Press

Feb, 2012 — Present
I have, along with my business partner, published more than 3000 titles in eBook, paperback, hardcover and unabridged audio. We have worked with everyone from Clive Barker, to new, emerging voices. We have been in business a long time, and during that time I have formatted eBooks, designed book interiors, edited short fiction and novels.

Arbor Books & Self-Employed

Nov, 2007 — Present
I have successfully ghost written at least ten projects. I have also written a number of "work for hire" tie-in novels that are similar to ghost-writing projects, though my name is on them. I have a solid background in writing and publishing with several key skill-sets that can inform a number of different types of book.
