I was the publications director for a leading think tank in Washington, DC, for 35 years and honed my editorial skills there managing its book publishing program and editorial team. Since then, I've operated my own freelance editorial services firm, and my clients include university presses, commercial book publishers, think tanks, and individual authors. My current clients include Basic Books, The Catholic University of America Press, Manhattan Institute, American Enterprise Institute, and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University, I have a passion for good grammar and English prose, and my specific skills include developmental and substantive book editing as well as proofreading and copyediting. In my editorial career, I've edited or proofread at least 50 books, most of them in the areas of public policy, economics, and history.
