Ciara Finan – Editor

At Curtis Brown, I work with one of the senior agents on his expansive list that includes Booker Prize winners, Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers. Specifically, I work with authors to help give advice and guidance on developmental and structural edits.

Children’s Books Ireland is the national charity & arts organisation that champions every child’s right to develop a love of reading. Through our many activities and events we aim to engage young people with books, foster a greater understanding of the importance of books for young people and act as a core resource for those with an interest in books for children in Ireland.

ROPES Literary Journal was first published in 1993 at NUI Galway. Early editions included critical essays, focusing on literature, art and politics. The journal developed gradually as an anthology, showcasing works of prose, poetry, artwork, photography and non-fiction. In my role as Managing Editor, I oversaw all teams (Marketing, Publicity, Design and Sales) and worked with the Editorial team to choose submissions and worked with writers to develop their novel extracts, short stories, essays, poetry and flash fiction.

Blackstone is a leading global investment business investing capital on behalf of pension funds, large institutions and individuals. In this role, my responsibilities included writing and editing relevant and specific content for press releases, blog and all social media platforms as well as event planning and the marketing and publicising of events.
