Overview

Reviews (6)

I have five years of editorial experience as an Agency Associate with one of the top agencies in New York, working with new voices as well as bestsellers and veterans. I am also a critically-acclaimed author of YA novels 'This Raging Light' and 'But Then I Came Back'. I am passionate about finding the diamond in every story and I apply this with a focus on Young Adult and Children's work.

I have taught workshops and retreats and hold an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. I have also contributed articles to Bloomsbury’s Writers & Artists, Uproxx, and Huffington Post, to name just a few.

I believe the best writing comes from the heart. It doesn't need to be based on something you've experienced, but it does need to connect with the reader on a visceral level. You want them glued from the first line, the first page, the first sentence, and you want them never to be able to look away, no matter how painful or awkward it gets, and that is where my specialty lies.

Writing is life. There is no backup plan.

I have spent the last five years doing editorial work at Folio Literary Management as associate to Emily van Beek. I write pitch letters, get manuscripts honed for publication, and my favorite...find the diamond in every story and shine it up so everyone can see it. I have a deep knowledge of the publishing industry on the children's/teen side of things and know what people are looking for. Being an author myself, I am also sensitive to the writer. I know how difficult it is, but I've developed a method and am confident I have a sharp eye for what works.

Be True to Me

Adele Griffin

JEAN: Could it be true? Instead of a summer playing handmaiden to Daphne, was I being delivered something entirely different--a summer in the spotlight? A summer starring Gil Burke and me? Summer flings and sexy romances were Daphne's territory. Not mine. I was the one you didn't pick. I swatted off my hope like a bumblebee, knowing it was already too late. I'd been deliriously stung.FRITZ: Pe... read more

Working with Estelle was a very positive experience. Right from the first correspondence, she was professional and eager to work on my manuscript. She responded promptly to emails, and got the work done much faster than any beta reader. Her feedback was thoughtful and thorough. Even when she had to ask for one extra day to finalize her thoughts, I didn't mind one bit because I knew I was gettin...
