Former HarperCollins senior editor passionate about elegant writing, powerful storytelling, and building strong relationships with writers.

Overview

**I am currently booked out until August. If you have projects for August onwards, please reach out! I'd love to hear from you.**

Hi there! My name is Julia and I’ve been a professional book editor for over a decade. For seven years I worked in-house as a senior editor at HarperCollins before moving to freelancing, and my clients now include Penguin Random House, Harlequin, Entangled, Hachette, and Pan Macmillan. I am passionate about elegant writing, powerful storytelling, and building strong relationships with writers.

I specialise in commercial fiction, particularly romance, YA, thrillers/suspense, fantasy, paranormal, and more. I offer structural editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading services. (If you're not sure what you need, just let me know and I can help!) My approach is warm and collaborative; your vision for the book always comes first, and my authors feel supported, understood, and free to trust their own instincts.

On top of my professional experience, I have an MA in publishing, a BA in English literature, and a diploma in book editing. I am a native English speaker experienced in editing both US and UK English.

Julia has been an amazing person to have in that key editing support role. She is so kind and thoughtful. She checks in on you during the editing process and really plays that supportive role which you very much need as a first time fiction author! Julia conducted a developmental edit for me and I would thoroughly recommend this. The feedback was detailed, thorough, considerate and professional...

After Julia worked on my first novel I was so happy with her skills I did not hesitate to have her work on my second novel. Thank you Julia, this was, as you well now, very close to my heart and I feel I could not have had anyone better work on My Broken Wing Butterfly. Highly recommend.
