Overview
As the author of four traditionally published young adult novels, I have been fortunate to work with some stellar editors on my own books, and for the last eighteen years I have read, edited and critiqued some fantastic manuscripts, many of which went on to be published. Although most of my work has been in writing for children and teens (from poetry to picture books to novels), I've also worked on adult manuscripts and absolutely adore romance as a genre. When I edit, I like to focus on the key elements that make a book unforgettable -- namely plotting, pacing, character development and voice. Whether fiction or non-fiction, children's or adult genres, these are the aspects of a manuscript that need to be rock solid, but can be so doggone hard to nail down. If I edit your work, I won't just say something's not working -- I'll tell you why and offer concrete solutions that will help you move the story forward and make it as strong as possible. I think all writers can agree that writing is not for the faint of heart. Honestly there have been many times in my own writing life where I've definitely wanted to bang my head against the wall! But with the advice and wisdom of trusted editors, I've gotten over the bumps in the road and learned valuable lessons in the process. I believe that my experience can help you take your writing to that next level, too. Let's get to work! Praise from authors I've worked with:"Christina has been my critique partner and editor for almost a decade. As a published author herself, she understands all the elements of story from plotting to character arcs. Her direction and advice is always constructive and clear which is why I rely on her, and why you can, too. I highly recommend her for any writer, no matter what level of experience."-Amy Fellner Dominy"Christina is great at spotting character inconsistencies and plot weaknesses, and she praises what I do well while kindly presenting suggestions for improvement. She's my go-to for honest and helpful feedback on all of my projects!"-Kristin Rae"Christina is a skilled and thoughtful editor, with a true gift for both macro and micro edits. When she reads my drafts, she always asks the tough questions, always pushes me to dig deeper, add layers and nuance. I recommend her highly!"-Joy Preble
