I am a french illustrator who specialize in children’s books for middle grade, I work with self-published writers. I done this job for about ten Books. I like to work on projects which, beyond telling great stories, seek to transmit values, or which deal with social issues. I feel more invested in this kind of project. This is how our exchanges will go :

In the first place, we’ll communicate about your project and define what type it is. Is it a book cover ? An album with several illustrations ? And if yes, how many ? Are there external illustrations ? Some goodies too, like a bookmark or a calendar for example ?

Then, I’ll submit to you the quote.

When it’s valid, I’ll start to work on your project. If it’s a project with several illustrations, I’ll begin by making a test illustration for the art direction (style, color type of line).

After that comes your validation, I’ll send you a few steps (one : sketch, two : line, three : colors) that you will verify if it’s in adequation with what you want.

When the project’s finished, I’ll send you the folders to make your book real, in the format that you want (printed, web, kindle, and many other)
