Overview
"Chip is detailed, organised, and reliable. He takes a patient and professional approach, and left me in a good position to submit marketable work. He has the gift of immediately seeing what isn’t working in a story and how to fix it. Rather than trying to change my vision, he astutely advised on how to make my existing ideas stronger."
– Children’s author Rebecca Colby, published by Penguin Random House, Nosy Crow, et al

Being a professional storyteller for almost two decades has enabled me to amass a vast wealth of insight about what makes a story engaging for young people – in terms of both content and style. That's why I'm the go-to development editor for writers approaching the UK's National Centre for Writing for help with a children's book, and also why I'm on the preferred supplier list of the UK's Department for Education in helping educators encourage reading for pleasure among young people.
Whether you're struggling to find your 'writer's voice', keen to ensure your writing is sellable, or need help turning plot holes into tunnels that lead straight to a finished manuscript, I will offer the advice – and the motivation – you need.

"Chip’s sessions were the best prepared and most enjoyable I’ve attended. He gave very detailed feedback and advice. He was always upbeat and encouraging, but I was given sound advice on how to improve my writing. It was excellent value for money!"
