Overview
I have been a freelance proofreader and copyeditor since 2012. With a PhD in Linguistics, I specialise in academic linguistic texts (books, journal articles, theses) but I work in many other subject areas. These have included anthropology, literature, pedagogy, history, art history and fashion design, and I am always interested in discovering new topics. Recent works have ranged from the biography of a 1920s Italian fashion designer to the impact of the oil palm industry on women's lives in the Borneo highlands, from the language of tourism in postcolonial Kenya to the socialisation of children through school mealtimes.
I offer friendly and tailored support through the process of checking and finalising your work and preparing it for publication. I am particularly experienced in working with non-native speakers of English, and can help you not only with improving your grammar but also with editing your text to achieve a more fluent read. Do get in touch if you’d like to discuss your work with me!
