Carey McIntyre

Carey McIntyre – Editor

Nonfiction copyediting and proofreading. Vegan cookbooks, nature, gardening, self care, arts & crafts.

Overview

I offer copyediting and proofreading services for vegan cookbooks as well as books on nature, gardening, self care, DIY, and arts and crafts.

I bring more than 20 years’ experience as an editor (and writer) across various sectors, including publishing, government, nonprofit and tech. I am good at helping people learn new things and connecting people with new ideas. I work on manuscripts about things I love, so you can depend on my dedication to your work.

I will collaborate with you thoughtfully to ensure your logic and language are flowing, explanations are comprehensive and concise, and the reader’s perspective is fully accounted for. I will fine-tune your text to ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency, so your readers thrive at whatever you’re teaching them.

Here are some things my supervisors have said about me:

"... it is rare that I have come across someone with such a talent and passion for clear written communications."

"In my experience, you are 100% reliable, which is of inestimable value to me; I know without a doubt that what lands on your desk will be accomplished on purpose and on deadline."

"Her skills as a communicator and her metronomic consistency in application are traits that I personally value very highly and have great admiration and respect for."
