Overview

Hello, thank you for taking an interest in my work.

I am passionate about using my design knowledge and experience to collaboratively bring a book to market. To visually communicate the atmosphere, themes and feelings within. To create a beautiful thoughtful cover.

Over a long career I have worked in house at HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, Hodder and Headline. I now freelance for them and widely across the UK’s leading publishing houses (Orion, Little Brown, Simon & Schuster, Bloomsbury, Macmillan, Bonnier, Oneworld, Head of Zeus) and award winning independents (Boldwood, Canelo, Joffe) as well as with self funding individuals. I have a varied portfolio, although I now mainly work in commercial genre fiction (especially women’s).

I have a strong grounding in layout and typography, am used to searching

for and editing stock images as well as creating my own illustrations and lettering.

I am skilled and artistic at art working my designs into finished covers and have a thorough understanding of print processes. I have an eye for detail,

a love of colour and texture and cherish the process of designing the whole package.

I am flexible, a good communicator, used to liaising and working collaboratively. I am a natural problem solver, organised, highly motivated and used to working simultaneously on multiple projects.

I’d love to help nurture your project to life. Drop me a line!

Best wishes Becky
