Overview
I'm an experienced editorial freelancer coming from a background as an in-house editorial and production editor in independent, small press publishing. My areas of expertise are feminist and queer/LGBTQ fiction and nonfiction, race, cultural theory, art, philosophy, translation, politics and activism.
Since going freelance, I have worked with academic and trade publishers of all sizes; with journals, magazines and nonprofit organizations; on grant writing for literary funding; with film festivals and art institutions; and directly with independent authors on articles and manuscripts, both fiction and nonfiction.
I have been at times a grassroots organizer, bookseller, copywriter, and publishing jack-of-all-trades. I am also a research MA student in Cultural Analysis at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA) at the University of Amsterdam, as well as an editor-at-large at Barricade, a journal of literary translation and antifascist politics. I am additionally fluent in Greek, and my work travels with me, as I am variably based out of rural Maine, Amsterdam, or Athens, for months at a time.
Professional Memberships:
I am a member of the Editorial Freelancer's Association, the American Copy Editors Society, and the
Association of Art Editors, as well as, regionally, Mediterranean Editors and Translators and the Society of English-language Professionals in the Netherlands (SENSE).
