Ana Belén Barrera

Ana Belén Barrera – Translator

English to Spanish and Galician translator since 2011. Large experience in Graphic Novels, Art and History.

Overview

Reading and writing is my passion for as long as I can remember. I wanted to make a career of it, so I studied a 5-year Degree in Translation and Interpreting. I completed my studies in 2011 and I’ve been working as a full-time freelance translator, localizator, proofreader and copywriter ever since. Now I’m based in Berlin, an inspiring city that gave me the opportunity to explore other job opportunities, such as a language teaching position in the University, just so I can reaffirm what I already knew, that translation is what I love the most and what I do best.

I only get involved with projects I believe in. Smooth communication and confidence are key factors in order for a project to succeed. Choosing me is choosing quality, commitment and results.

*Currently studying the online Master's Degree in Literary Translation and Translations for Publishers by AulaSIC.*

"Working with Ana involves good communication and speed. She was so involved in the last project that not only she focused on the linguistics, but also verified and corrected historical data."

Ana diligently translated my novel into a work of art, making my story available to audiences I might never have been able to reach. I'm so very proud of the finished product and recommend her work to other authors aspiring to have their novels translated. Thank you for this once in a lifetime keepsake I will always cherish!!
