I am an veteran editor with nearly twelve years of experience editing fiction and nonfiction at big five publishers like HarperCollins and Penguin Random House as well as midsize publisher Bloomsbury and most recently at small independent press, Zando. I have edited or worked on New York Times betsellers, national bestsellers, as well as books nominated for major awards including the National Book Awards, National Book Critics Circle, NAACP Image Awards, Edgar Awards, Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, Lambda Literary Awards, Hurston/Wright Legacy Awards, Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Awards, Bram Stoker Awards, among others.

I have a wealth of experience editing across themes/genre-bending works, from an art heist thriller and New York Times bestseller PORTRAIT OF A THIEF by Grace D. Li to a biography of a queer icon and national bestseller, MARSHA: The Joy and Defiance of Marsha P. Johnson by Tourmaline, to an NAACP Image Award nominated novel about black girlhood, WHAT THE FIREFLIES KNEW by Kai Harris to a sly murder investigation and an exploration of family and community in a South Asian neighborhood in New Jersey, Amazon Best Book of March pick, MEN LIKE OURS by Bindu Bansinath, to a novel about revenge, family, and a crocodile-infested river set in Costa Rica, CROCODILOPOLIS by John Manuel Arias, my experience in editing runs the gamut.

I am particularly interested in works by underrepresented writers and focus on editing literary and upmarket fiction. For nonfiction I am interested in humor, essay collections, cultural criticism, and select memoir with a focus on big issues such as race, class, identity, social justice, power, gender, etc.
