Overview

Alyssa Bermudez (she/her) is a born and bred Nuyorican living down under in Tasmania, Australia! She studied illustration and animation at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC for undergraduate and graduate courses. As an author, illustrator, and art teacher for students aged 5-75+, she strives to put the KA-POW into stories and learning, while representing children of diverse backgrounds. She has illustrated a dozen books for children and Big Apple Diaries is her debut graphic novel. Her illustrations can be found on fabric and fashion, in magazines, many children’s books and even on stage! She is obsessed with dogs, books, live sketching, mountain biking, travelling and keeping plants alive.

December 2020- January 2022 I left to focus on my freelance work, but I am back part time again!

Keshet Design is a Hobart-based Fashion company featuring bold, exciting prints and sustainable cottage industry practices. I facilitated and designed the website makeover with the team over the years as well as created prints and colourways for each seasonal fabric collection. I created highly visual EDM campaigns each week for retail and wholesale customer news. I often maintained and troubleshot the back end of the website as well - finding more efficient strategies for the best customer experiences.
