Work with Editorial, Design, Production, and Marketing departments to ensure timely delivery of quality books and formats with an eye toward meeting sales materials deadlines and other key dates.
Create, monitor, and troubleshoot schedules.
Manage project workflow from copyediting of manuscript through proofreading of bluelines and approval of advance copies; including facilitation of licensed titles and rush schedules.
Copyedit as needed and proofread galleys, printer proofs, and other materials such as jacket copy and marketing materials, working collaboratively with editorial, design, and production.
Maintain seasonal masterlists and communicate any changes to the house.
Liaise with publishing director to improve performance of editorial department and track deliverables relating to managing editorial matters.
Hire and evaluate freelance copyeditors (and proofreaders, as necessary) and oversee freelance costs, workflow, and database.

Make editorial style decisions as questions arise in both manuscripts and galleys, maintaining
Chronicle Books’ editorial standards.
Facilitate publishing group meetings, creative meetings, and status meetings, capturing key publishing information and ensuring seasonal schedule dates and editorial concerns are addressed.
Coordinate creation, review, and distribution of seasonal tipsheets and participate in seasonal launch meetings.
Supervise editorial temps/interns as needed.

– Edit and coordinate the production of Hoover Institution materials (books, essays, marketing material, etc.)
from manuscript (and sometimes concept) to finished product.
