I'm an assistant editor at HarperCollins working on commercial nonfiction and upmarket fiction with an emphasis on stories for women readers. I freelance proofread nonfiction, art and illustrated books, and children's books for Abrams, Scholastic, and Workman. I’m also the co-editor of Tart, an arts and literary magazine forthcoming in 2019. As an editorial assistant at Abrams, I worked on nonfiction, including the New York Times–bestselling biography on Fred Rogers, THE GOOD NEIGHBOR; Viet Thanh Nguyen's anthology from writers illuminating their experiences as refugees, THE DISPLACED; designer Jon Contino's monograph, BRAND BY HAND; and Michael Leviton's forthcoming memoir on what it means to lie in one's daily life, TO BE HONEST. My background is in magazine journalism, and my words have appeared in print and online, including Mashable and RadioTimes.
At Reedsy, I offer editing and proofreading services for a diverse range of book projects. What I’m interested in: women's fiction, YA, multicultural and underrepresented stories, cultural studies, art and entertainment, identity and gender politics, technology, lifestyle, social issues, sex and relationships, and more. What I’m not interested in: historical fiction, spy novels, political memoirs or exposes, technical or academic works.
I’m based in Brooklyn, where I spend my time eating flamin’ hot cheetos and watching Terrace House. I’ll never let you forget I’m from Texas.
