Overview
I am enthusiastic about books and reading. I have enjoyed helping established and first-time authors to finesse their work. I started my career working at Penguin Books and the educational publishing house I.B. Tauris. As a copy editor, I've worked for the Royal Academy of Arts Magazine and Time Out Guides. In a freelance capacity, I've held the role of a production editor on The Architectural Review. I have also produced editorial work for Carlton Books, the Do Book Company, Earthscan, Phaidon Press, Wiley and Yale University Press. Please scroll down to see my portfolio for a selection of books on which I have worked.
In book publishing, I have focused on proofreading non-fiction books in the subject areas of art and design, business, biographies, the environment and general history. I have worked as a magazine journalist and I am a published writer. I am adept at using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word track changes for editing and proofreading purposes. I understand how to use BSI proof-correction marks with a keen eye for detail. I strive to make sure that information is honestly conveyed, accurate and fair. As an experienced proofreader, I take great care to produce a high-quality outcome. Thank you for reading this.
