Overview
I am enthusiastic about books and reading. I have enjoyed helping established and first-time authors to finesse their work.
I started my career working at Penguin Books and the independent publishing house I.B. Tauris. As a copy editor, I have worked for the Royal Academy of Arts Magazine and Time Out Guides. I've also held the role of a production editor on the journal The Architectural Review. In a freelance capacity, I have produced editorial work for Carlton Books, the Do Book Company, Earthscan, John Wiley & Sons, Lund Humphries, Phaidon Press and Yale University Press. Please scroll down to see my portfolio for a selection of books on which I have worked.
I enjoy teamwork and collaboration. In book publishing, I have focused on proofreading non-fiction books in the subject areas of the fine arts, business, biographies, the environment and general history. As a published writer, I can empathise with the challenges of the editorial process, I am adept at using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word track changes for editing proofs. I understand how to use BSI proof-correction marks with a keen eye for detail. As an experienced proofreader, I take great care to produce a high-quality outcome.
