Overview
I am enthusiastic about books and reading. I have enjoyed helping established and first-time authors to finesse their work.
I started my career working at Penguin Books and the independent publishing house I.B. Tauris. Later, I worked for the Royal Academy of Arts Magazine and Time Out Guides. Then I held a role as a production editor on the international architecture magazine, The Architectural Review. I have done editorial work for Carlton Books, the Do Book Company, John Wiley & Sons, Lund Humphries, Phaidon Press and Yale University Press. Please scroll down to see a selection of books on which I have worked as a copy editor in my portfolio.
While I enjoy collaboration, I have focused on editing non-fiction books in the subject areas of the fine arts, business, the environment, general history and travel. As a published art writer, I can empathise with the challenges that authors face. I am adept at using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word track changes for editing manuscripts and proofs. I understand how to use BSI proof-correction marks with a keen eye for detail. As a copy editor and a proofreader, I take great care to produce a high quality outcome. Happy reading!
