Overview
'Working with Aida was an absolute pleasure. Aida’s thorough work, coupled with clear communication and diligent attention to my tight but critical timeline meant she took a lot of the stress out of the final preparations [...] I would highly recommend Aida to any writer needing a highly professional proofreader.' - Laura Rosser, Lecturer in Fine Art
I have years of experience editing academic and non-fiction texts. My academic editing speciality is mainly Humanities, from literature and history to gender studies, philosophy and religion. In non-fiction, I’ve worked on biographies, memoirs, historical accounts, travel writings, translated works, political and sociological reflections, and more. I’m familiar with various referencing styles (Chicago, Harvard, MLA, APA, etc.) and proficient in the use of Arabic and Persian diacritical marks in compliance with the IJMES system.
I have experience of editing shorter pieces of literary fiction and poetry, and have a deep knowledge of dramatic texts. When it comes to works of fiction, my preference is to take a compassionate approach. I’m careful to find and respect the author’s voice, and aim to guide rather than correct.
I very much enjoy my job and have been noted for having a meticulous and thoughtful attitude and a great eye for detail. Tell me about your manuscript and hopefully we will have the pleasure of working to improve it together!
Both short- and long-term projects are accepted.
