Overview
Chandler brings a decade of storytelling experience across book publishing, digital marketing, and magazine writing, giving her a nuanced understanding of how compelling stories are built. She’s been a literary agent for over four years, supporting a range of nonfiction and fiction authors.
Chandler has worked with authors in every stage of the publishing process, from early concept development, structural editing, line refinement, marketing, publicity, to film/tv adaptation. She negotiates book and film/tv deals, and regularly collaborates with editors, lawyers, film/tv representatives, international rights specialists, book scouts, and international co-agents.
Chandler offers guidance that merges literary sensibility with a keen understanding of audience and market. Drawing on her work with both emerging and established authors, Chandler understands what makes a book proposal stand out. She approaches each project and author relationship with curiosity and care, providing detailed feedback that strengthens both the writing and the author's confidence in their craft. She’s eager to offer practical insights on structure, pacing, and character development, help an author write a captivating query, and go deeper on a line edit level while preserving the integrity of an author’s voice.
*PLEASE NOTE* As per the Association of American Literary Agents code of ethics, hiring Chandler in an editorial capacity will prevent her from representing your work as your literary agent.
Chandler is a graduate of Washington and Lee University, where she studied English and Film and played Division III soccer. She holds a Certificate in Publishing from Columbia University.
