Overview
Hi! I'm a copy editor and proofreader with a background in print publishing and film criticism. For over 5 years I've been working at the Millennium Film Journal, the longest-running avant-garde film publication since 1978. As managing editor, I have edited, copy edited, and proofread dozens of articles over the years, and I've developed a keen ear for flow, clarity, and accuracy, as well as a laser-focused eye for errors. I'm adept at both MLA and Chicago style citations, and have freelance copy edited academic texts in addition to my work in publications.
I take a granular, word-by-word approach to sentences, but years of practice with tight deadlines have enabled me to scan writing quickly, and I can turn even the clunkiest text into a smooth-reading, error-free manuscript on short notice. My particular areas of expertise are film, literature, and technology, but I'm a also generalist, and comfortable working on a wide range of subjects. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions for me!

Work experience
Millennium Film Journal
As the managing editor of the Millennium Film Journal, the longest-running publication devoted to artist's moving image, I write and edit articles, manage editors, proofread each article that goes into each issue, and assist with various administrative duties related to distribution, promotion, and organization.
Atropos Books
I copy edited the manuscript of Andrzej Jachimczyk's 228-page academic book "How I Became What I Am: Young Nietzsche Embarks on Life's Odyssey." As Andrzej is not a native english speaker, the text required substantial edits for word choice, flow, and clarity, and I also assisted with the book summaries and blurbs.
Various
Over the years I've written for various print and digital publications, primarily film-related, including Film Comment, Screen Slate, and the Millennium Film Journal.
