Overview
Hi! I'm a detail-oriented copy editor/proofreader with experience in the production specifics of the book publishing industry. In my role at each of my prior publishers, I either assisted my direct report or personally took charge of overseeing the production lifespan of nearly 300 books. I've also worked on projects in a freelance capacity, offering my keen eye to self-published authors.
In terms of genres, I've worked mostly with nonfiction titles (e.g., cooking/baking, DIY/crafts, pop culture, lifestyle), but I've also worked with drama/plays, as well as children's books. I'm highly collaborative in my approach, so while I take care of the grammatical nuts and bolts of a piece, I'm always sure to communicate any potential shifts to the author. This ensures that each book achieves the highest level of quality while remaining true to an author’s voice and vision.

• Formatted, copy edited, fact-checked, and proofread manuscripts, ensuring they followed both Chicago Manual of Style and TCG in-house style guidelines.
• Corresponded with authors on publishing timelines, prospective changes, ancillary material requests, and other related inquiries, as well as with the external designer on any and all interior changes (textual, format, etc.).
Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
• Typeset manuscript in InDesign, tagging elements accordingly (e.g. characters, stage directions, etc.) and abiding by DPS in-house style guidelines. Ensure that all formatting elements from original manuscript transfer over to the InDesign file.
• Copy edit/proofread text using Chicago Manual of Style. Fact-check references, quotes, and other relevant data throughout.
Brighter Horizon Foundation
• Conduct tutoring sessions with students over Zoom that encompass content elaboration and line editing.
• Flesh out ideas in collaboration with the student and develop the work to best reflect their individuality and life experience.

• Worked with manuscripts through the editorial process (software, quality control, copy edit review, design) and collaborated interdepartmentally to ensure highest level of quality.
• Ensured that manuscripts adhered to company formatting and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, along with appropriate sensitivity. Fact-checked references, quotes, and other relevant data throughout.

• Proofread, performed line edits, and gave content feedback on manuscripts using MS track changes.
