Overview

Former fiction editor at Fairlight Books (UK) specialising on contemporary and literary novels, novellas and short stories, with the main focus on structural editing and proofreading. I worked with authors who were at different stages of their careers, from award-winners to debut authors. If your work is just at the start and needs a hand with the structure and the plot, or if it needs only a final proofread I'm there for you. I can work with line edits and comments as well as a full separate report - anything the authors prefers. I've proofread the Women's prize longlisted book 'Bottled Goods', and most recently worked on the whole editorial process for 'Broadwater' (longlisted for the Diverse Book Awards) and David and Ameena - from structural edits to proofreading.

I'm passionate about stories that can surprise me with something new and unexpected, stories that move. Always looking for different genres to explore, including non-fiction.

Judith Day
Urska contributed valuable insight into the needs of the story, especially regarding character development. She perceived exactly what was missing and when I read her comments I knew they were spot on. She is sharp and easy to work with, an unobtrusive, skillful editor.
