I have been copyediting and producing books for academic publishers in a freelance capacity in addition to my full-time production job.
I started out as a production editor and worked my way up to production manager for social science college and graduate-level textbooks. I enjoyed the production work too much to give it up for more management-focused responsibilities, so I stepped down in order to keep production as my focus. As a senior production editor, I manage manuscripts in the areas of sociology, psychology, political science, communications, criminology, and management — from copyediting to typesetting to proofreading to indexing, and then to press. I work closely with authors and freelancers, in addition to the in-house editorial, marketing, and design teams. I love what I do!

Over the course of 10 years, I did production, mockup, and editing of various trade journals and books and worked closely with the in-house graphic designers and the prepress team. I hired and supervised production and copy editors.
