Tony Wayte

Tony Wayte – Editor

I'm an experienced editor and publishing project manager with an academic background in physical sciences.

Overview

I've worked in publishing in one form or another since the late '80s. Most of my work has been in educational and academic publishing specialising in maths and science, although I've made a couple of very interesting forays into mountaineering and exploration. I've been working freelance with my wife and professional partner Fiona McDonald since 2008.As an editor, I particularly enjoy the collaborative elements of the job, working with authors to make sure their manuscripts deliver everything that's needed, and working with publishers to deliver on time and within budget.I've worked on hundreds of textbooks, but I think my favourite ever work was on Graham Hoyland's 'Last Hours on Everest' - apart from being a fascinating piece of investigation on a subject I've long been interested in, the work involved phone conferences with Graham while he was on his yacht in the Caribbean!
